What’s the difference between IT Retail and other retail POS systems?

A POS system is a store management tool that manages employees, tracks inventory, streamlines vendor management, and processes payments. How long does it take to set up a new POS system?

Onboarding with IT Retail typically takes about two weeks. In that time, we’ll set you up with a dedicated onboarding expert who will help you set up your new hardware, migrate and clean up your product list, set up integrations, and train you on the system.

Does IT Retail support weight-based sales?

Yes. IT Retail integrates with a wide variety of popular scales to weigh and price variable weight products like produce, meat, and cheese. Embedded barcodes can be printed in advance or on the fly from a connected label printer for easy checkout.  

Can I use my existing hardware with IT Retail?

Yes, IT Retail supports a wide range of barcode scanners, scanner scales, deli scales, and receipt printers. If you’re missing anything, we can help you find the right hardware for your business.

Does IT Retail work when my internet goes down?

IT Retail will continue to work even without a live internet connection. Our hybrid architecture creates a local backup that syncs with the cloud. This means you get the best of both worlds: The ability to access the store from any connected device and the peace of mind knowing that your store will keep running when the internet is down.

Is EBT/SNAP support a paid add-on?

No. EBT support is built into IT Retail and requires no third-party apps or workarounds to use.

How does IT Retail handle vendor invoices and price updates?

IT Retail has several ways to update invoices. You can receive against an existing purchase order, add items manually, or scan in a paper or PDF invoice using our AI-powered OCR scanning feature.

Prices can be updated individually or in bulk (by product type, department, etc.), and you can also print new shelf or product labels in the same workflow.
